Videoflex
The heat transfer Process starts when you digitally print in full colour on a plastic like material that gets cut out in any shape and placed on a surface where it can be transferred with a heat press. With the heat transfer process, the transfer sheet is pressed with 180°C - 200°C, at a pressure of 1.6 bar against the surface where the transfer is done.
Advantages of Using the Heat transfer or Videoflex process:
- The turnaround time is a lot faster, compared to other printing methods
- Images prints more cleary than other printing methods
- Any artwork can be used, where with the screen printing method, you are limited to vector format only
- On low quantities, Videoflex is more cost effective than silkscreen printing
Disadvantages of Using the Heat transfer or Videoflex process:
- Not all types of meterial can be used to Videoflex, and in some cases people dislike the plastic like surface of the Videoflex.
- It is adivised not to tumble dry, wash in a washing machine or dry clean Heat transferred products. The best way to wash Heat transferred products is a cold hand wash. The colour also fades after a couple of washes.
- Artwork with outline detail and sharp edges will not be able to be heat transferred, but the artwork can be put in a white block, to be a solid artwork that can be pressed.
